When migrating from GoDaddy to Microsoft through EPI, getting connected to your mail accounts on the day after the migration has a couple of challenges. Unlike moving from Google to Microsoft, GoDaddy is a Microsoft reseller. This means that you already have stored credentials on your devices that believe you are getting your email from GoDaddy.
Resolving this on Android is a straight forward process of uninstalling apps, removing accounts, installing apps and then logging in to the new accounts. If this is the first time you are logging in, the process will require you to change your password from whatever password was provided to you by EPI and it will require you to register the Microsoft Authenticator with your new account.
Doing this is best resolved with two devices. Use your phone for the Authenticator and another device to sign in. This article focuses on the second device being an Android table.
Step 1
Remove all work or school accounts from the Android device.
Navigate to Settings -> Accounts and Backup -> Manage Accounts.
Find every account in this list with your work email address associated to it for the following applications:
Work Account.
Microsoft One Drive
Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Outlook
Microsoft 365
Click on each account and select "Remove Account" from the details page. Remove the following applications from the device:
Microsoft Teams
Microsoft One Drive
Microsoft Outlook
Step 2
Reinstall applications on the device. Navigate to the Play Store and download Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams. Alternatively, you can also download Microsoft One Drive. We will be using Microsoft Outlook to sign in. This process requires two devices because of the Microsoft Authenticator application that is on your phone. If you have not downloaded the Microsoft Authenticator on your phone, do so at this time and get it installed. It is the SECOND link in a search for "Microsoft Authenticator".
Step 3
Open the Microsoft Outlook application on your second device. It will ask you for an email address. If it presents you with a screen where your phone number is selected, select "Skip" so that you can use your company email address to sign in. The password for your account should have been communicated to you before the migration and this sign in process will require you to change the password in order to log in. Add your email, sign in with the provided password, update your password and continue on in the wizard until you can see a QR code on the screen.
Switch to your phone and open the Microsoft Authenticator. Answer yes to all security prompts and if you have at one-point point disabled notifications from this app, you will need to go to notification settings and unblock the app. You can either click the + sign at the top left of the application and then select "Work or School Account" -> "Scan a QR Code" or use the "Scan a QR Code" option from the home page. Scan the QR code on your other device and add your Microsoft account to the authenticator. You should get a toast message on your phone telling you that the account has been registered successfully.
Go back to your other device and click Next. This will send you a notification to your phone to enter a two-digit number displayed on your device. Enter the number into your Authenticator and approve the login. go back to the second device and click next until you see your inbox. Your account is properly setup and can now be used to log into the same apps on your other devices including your phone.
